Four-year-old Sama receives a dose of vitamin A from a mobile vaccination team in Syria. Vitamin A helps strengthen immunity and can reduce the risk of serious complications from illnesses such as measles.UNICEF-supported vaccination teams travelled between communities to help ensure children could access life-saving immunisation services.
 
In July 2026, the Ministry of Health, with support from UNICEF and partners, launched a measles vaccination campaign targeting more than 290,000 children aged 6 months to 5 years. Through mobile and fixed vaccination teams, children received the measles-rubella vaccine and vitamin A supplementation.
