Protection from disease for Rohingya refugee children

Arefa and her younger niece, Khaleda, are Rohingya refugee children living in the tiny island of Bhasan Char, Bangladesh. On the island clean water is hard to find.

With the support from hygiene volunteer, Tip, Khaleda’s family and many others are now able to easily access clean water. "Finding drinkable water in Bhasan Char is not easy. My aunt told us about these aquatabs. It makes our water good and safe for drinking," she remarks. 

“Learning that a small tablet can render a substantial amount of water safe was truly eye-opening. Science is truly remarkable,” Khaleda added.

Tip, a volunteer hygiene workerteaches families how to use the water purification tablets to help prevent waterborne diseases.
