Amira is a 9 month old from South Sudan who is eager to dig into her 'peanut butter' sachet.

Prior to receiving treatment on the 'Outpatient Therapeutic Program' (OTP), Amira was suffering from acute malnutrition that was progressively getting worse. Her condition was so severe, she didn't have the energy to talk and wasn't able to stand like most infants. Terrified and confused, her mother Samar feared she wouldn't survive.

Amira has been discharged from the OTP and is now stabilising in the 'Targeted Supplementary Feeding Programme' (TSFP). After regaining her strength, she has been significantly more active, now able to stand on her own and play with her siblings.

UNICEF supplies ready-to-use therapeutic foods to all health districts in South Sudan, supporting families and children like Amira in times of crisis.

In 2020, UNICEF helped to provide treatment for severe acute malnutrition for more than 5 million children around the world.

If you choose to order a printed card, you should allow 10 working days for delivery. While we process all orders as efficiently as possible, please note that we are unable to control the timing of postage delivery through Australia Post.
